Intertwine Newsletter- Recruiting and Talent

Trouble finding top quality candidates?

2022 is upon us and I thought it would be helpful to share some insights/trends we are seeing in the labor sector of wine and spirits.

  1. The obvious: Quality labor is not only at a severe shortage in our space, but it also comes at a premium.

  2. Organizations in our space are tending to be slow to change to the changing labor market. We simply can not do what we used to do 10, 5 or even 3 years ago and expect a successful hiring process.

  3. Quality candidates are being lost at the finish line due to two major factors. 1. Slow hiring process. Rule of thumb: If you like a candidate there’s a darn good chance someone else does as well. 2. The wrong offer is made. Getting an offer correct can be very difficult and making the wrong offer can and oftentimes does, kill the deal.

  4. All forecasts point to the labor shortage continuing in 2022 and quite possibly getting worse.

I am also happy to report that in 2021 and now continuing into 2022, Intertwine has successfully filled 100% of the jobs our clients have given us the privilege of working on. I am extremely proud of our team for this achievement and it speaks volumes to the dedication and client care they display day in and day out.

We may do things a little differently around here, but it works and we are excited to be changing the way hiring is done in our space.
