Contingent vs. Retainer – An Anecdote

Happy New Year!

After a couple of challenging years for a lot of employers, we’re starting to see certain trends that point to a much better 2022. This month, we’re sharing some articles on those trends and have a new batch of potential recruits. But first, an anecdote…

INTERTWINE RISES ABOVE THE COMPETITION (AGAIN)

Intertwine was recently approached by a new client with an extremely difficult position to fill.

This client had previously engaged a different search firm to facilitate filling the position and had paid a retainer fee. It turned out, however, to be a waste of time and money. After a few weeks of working on the search, the retained search firm contacted the client, letting them know that no candidates could be found, and that work would cease on the order.

After engagement with Intertwine for a contingent search to fill the need, the client’s role was filled within three weeks.

Because all our searches are confidential, we cannot mention who this client is, but we can tell you that it is a very well-known wine company.

Feel free to reach out to me directly at (707) 312-8190 or email me at [email protected] or via Intertwine’s contact form.

Cheers,

Neil Solari, CEO and President Intertwine Group, Inc.
